Soy milk and soy bean food
products are now extremely popular throughout the world due to their nutritional
and medicinal qualities. Soy milk is high in protein, low in fat and carbohydrate,
and zero in cholesterol. Soy offers a "complete" protein profile and
contains all the amino acids essential to human nutrition.
It is an excellent food
for babies, children and elderly people including pregnant and lactating women
because its vegetable protein is very easy to digest.
Scientists agree that soy
protein provide numerous benefits to heart health. Soybeans and its byproducts
– soymilk, tofu, etc – are rich in protein, iron, zinc, calcium,

Cow’s milk is an inefficient
food source. It takes a great deal of grain and other foodstuff cycled through
cows to produce a small amount of milk. And not only is milk a waste of energy
and water, the production of milk is also a disastrous source of water pollution.
A dairy cow expells waste every day equal to that of two dozen people, but with
no toilets, sewers, or treatment plants. Even the late Dr. Benjamin Spock, America’s
leading authority on child care, warned against feeding cow’s milk to children,
finding that it can cause anemia, allergies, and insulin-dependent diabetes
and increases the chances for kids up to risk obesity and America’s number one
cause of death, heart disease.
In 1999, dozens of clinical
human studies led the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to permit a health
claim that a daily diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol within 25 grams
of soy protein may reduce the risk of heart disease. The FDA allows that diets
with four daily soy servings can reduce levels of low-density lipoproteins (LDLs),
the so-called "bad cholesterol" that builds up in blood vessels, by
as much as 10 percent. Heart experts point out that a 1 percent drop in total
cholesterol can lead to a 2 percent drop in the risk of heart disease.
The FDA health claim for
soy protein provides consumers with solid scientific information about the benefits
of soy and helps individuals make informed choices to create a "heart healthy"
diet.

How well the milk tastes
begins with the bean. Some beans are sweeter than others and make a better milk.
Commercial soymilk has thickening agents to help simulate cow’s milk. Natural
soymilk will not be this thick.
For thicker drinks, you
can double-batch soy milk, simply meaning you make soymilk and then use this
soymilk instead of water to make a second batch. This thickens the second batch
of soy milk and makes it taste richer.
Straight soymilk will not
taste like commercial soymilk to which salt, sweetener, and flavoring has been
added. You can add your own choice of flavoring to your homemade soymilk (WALNUT,PEANUTS,
